EXCITING PLANS FOR THE NEWCASTLE COMMUNITY

Exciting plans await the city of Newcastle after councillors and senior leaders met to discuss future projects and strategies over the last two days.

In an annual Councillor Strategic Workshop, plans for the next 2 decades were laid bare, as part of the overarching Community Strategic Plan.

To engage a range of industries, CEO’s of multiple companies from around Newcastle were invited to have their say.

Dr Peter Cock, CEO of Newcastle Airport and Leah Gabolinscy, the CEO of Ramsay Health Care Newcastle Network were both present, to bring knowledge and ideas relating to travel and health.

With the culture and demographic of Newcastle constantly changing, the Lord Mayor Nuatali Nelmes made this a priority area.

Along with livability and economic transformation, they discussed ways to meet the needs of such a large diversity of residents.

Ms Nelmes says the engagement of the community will be fundamental in the development of new plans and projects.

“We will be engaging very broadly and extensively with the community, and our key partners and stakeholders, who will be key to the development of our plan” Ms Nelmes says.
