Pressure is mounting on Lake Macquarie Council to apply to rename an island off Swansea.
Members of Bahtabah aboriginal land council and the local MP say Coon Island is a racial slur… and believe that once people know the origin of the name, they’ll see there’s no valid argument for keeping it.
