SEARCH CONTINUES FOR MISSING FISHERMAN
A large-scale, multi-agency search has continued this morning, for a spear fisherman who went missing on the Mid North Coast.
Just after 1pm yesterday, emergency services were called to Laggers Point, near Trial Bay Gaol at South West Rocks, after reports the 52-year-old had been washed off rocks.
Police were told the man and his son were spear fishing in nearby water, when a large wave pushed them onto rocks.
The older man was swept back into the water, and has not been seen since.
A search operation was launched yesterday and continues today, led by Mid North Coast Police District, Marine Area Command, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Marine Rescue, NSW Ambulance, NSW Surf Lifesaving and local lifeguards.
He was last seen wearing a blue and green full-length wetsuit with a yellow-tipped snorkel and one black flipper.
