Several Newcastle community groups have been chosen to share in more than $1-million in funding from the state government.
The money will mainly be spent around the Port of Newcastle, on an inclusive play space at Foreshore Park, a solar lighting project at Throsby Creek, and several other projects.
“This was our fourth attempt to get it up, we’ve been working with a number of specialists to get it up to that point, and we’d hope to be able to kick this off within six months, if we can work in with it.” – Graham Hardes, Carrington Community Council President.
The funds are from the Newcastle Port Community Contribution Fund.
