DRUGS, A GUN AND WRECKLESS DRIVING SEES A MAN CHARGED IN RAYMOND TERRACE
Police have charged a 27-year-old man in Raymond Terrace, after allegedly seizing a gun and drugs from his car, following a pursuit.
The officers were conducting a routine patrol on Tathra Street early Saturday morning when they attempted to stop a Toyota Kluger for a random breath test.
When the vehicle failed to stop, police began a pursuit.
During the ordeal, the Toyota allegedly reversed into the front of the police car, before driving through a gate on private property, causing extensive damage.
The 26-year old passenger was arrested but the driver ran away.
He was arrested a short time later.
Following a search of the car, its alleged police uncovered a handgun, methylamphetamine and cannabis.
The driver was refused bail to appear before Newcastle Local Court today.
