815 SEASONAL WORKERS GRANTED CONDITIONAL ENTRY INTO NEW SOUTH WALES

A small burden has been taken off the backs of the state’s producers today, with the New South Wales Government granting 815 seasonal workers conditional approval to enter the state.
The workers will travel from from Papua New Guinea and the Pacific Islands to work in the state’s horticulture and meat processing industries.
They’ll be employed across the sector, including at Guyra’s Tomato Farm.
“They’ll join the almost 350 workers that the government has previously brought into New South Wales, so, all told, around 1300 agricultural workers that’ll be working on farms, picking fruit, working in our abbatoirs.”
It’s understood all incoming workers will be required to undergo two weeks’ in hotel quarantine before commencing work.
