A person has been located in the water by a rescue helicopter after being knocked off a sailing boat off Wangi Point this afternoon.
Other crew members on board were unable to lower the sails to stop the vessel when the man was knocked off the boom.
Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie was deployed when the man fell overboard.
