TAFE TEACHERS TAKE PAY DISPUTE TO STREETS

Hunter TAFE teachers want the New South Wales Premier to step in, and resolve a pay dispute.

They protested in Hunter Street, calling for a better deal.

The state government wants TAFE teachers to work an extra five hours a week, in exchange for a four per cent payrise.

But teachers claim they should get the wage increase without any new conditions being attached, because they already work large amounts of unpaid overtime.
