CENTRAL COAST WATER WARNING

Central Coast Council has kept local beaches closed, as recent flooding continues to pose danger.
Satellite images show a flood plume leaving the Hawkesbury River – through Broken Bay, and up the coastline.
The affected area now spans more than 60 kilometres long and 40 kilometres wide.
The torrent has also brought debris – which has prompted a warning to boaties.
Beaches have been closed since Friday – with council initially hoping to reopen them yesterday.
Staff are assessing the situation daily – to determine when we can hit the water again.
