HUNGERFORD BUSHFIRE OFFICIALLY OUT

The Hungerford Creek bushfire, that has been burning in the area of the Wollemi National Park for the last 51 days has officially been declared as put out.
The blaze, which was sparked by a lightening strike on the 14th of October has burnt close to 50,000 hectares, south of Denman.
Hundreds of fire fighters were thrown at the blaze, as well as special aircraft fitted with infrared radars to check for remaining hot spots in the giant fire.
Rural Fire Service Hunter Valley Team manager Superintendent Paul Jones has congratulated firefighters from both the NPWS and the RFS for their commitment in putting the blaze out.
