The man who built up Southport Sharks into a mega club, now has Burleigh Heads in his sights.
Paul Wyatt, CEO of Rugby Gold Coast, plans to transform Swell Tavern into the Breakers Community Club.
The building has been vacant since the owners went into receivership in October 2011
“So what we’ll have is something similar to a surf club operation – more family orientated than what you would have had before with the Swell Tavern which pretty much operated like a nightclub.”
The application is before Council and the Office of Liquor and Gaming.
