Lismore’s Nathan Herne has missed out on obtaining his Super License by one point after finishing sixth in the S5000 championship.
It was the 18-year-old’s goal this season to receive the license after Motorsport Australia denied him entry into last year’s Bathurst 1000 due to a lack of Super Car experience.
Herne says it was “very bitter sweet” competing in Sydney over the weekend, after claiming the top spot in race two of the Trans Am series.
He’ll next race in Warwick in late June.
