EAGLES OUTSHONE BY SYDNEY UNITED IN NPL GRAND FINAL

They put in a gallant effort this afternoon, but the Edgeworth Eagles went down 4-1 in the National Premier Leagues grand final.

The visitors had a handful of early chances, before Sydney United opened the scoring.

The Eagles thought they’d levelled it up, but Daniel McBreen’s effort was ruled out.

The home side responded by doubling its advantage.

Edgeworth was back in it after the break, when Keigo Moriyasu scored from the spot.

But Sydney would strike twice in the final 15 minutes to claim the title.
