CHAFFEY DAM RELEASE TO HELP STRUGGLING ECOSYSTEM

A struggling ecosystem is getting a much needed helping hand.

Upstream of Woolomin, the Peel River has missed out on most of the region’s recent rain.

But a release planned for Chaffey Dam will send around 1,000 megalitres downstream.

Although the dam is currently sitting at around 58% capacity, the release shouldn’t affect long-term water security in the region.
