TEENAGER ACCUSED OF DELIBERATLY A LIGHTING FIRE IN 2019
Police have charged a teenage boy following investigations into a deliberately lit fire near Tamworth.
In October 2019, an out of control bushfire destroyed approximately 533 hectares of the Nundle State Forest.
The fire was reported to police and officers from Oxley Police District commenced an investigation.
Police allege 200 litres of diesel duel was stolen from a logging excavator in the Nundle State Forest between October 26 and 27, 2019.
Following extensive inquiries, investigators arrested a 19-year-old man at a home in Bridgman, near Singleton, about 12.45pm yesterday.
He was taken to Singleton Police Station where he was charged with intentionally cause fire and be reckless as to its spread, and larceny.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at a children’s court on Tuesday July 13.
