Paramedics have hitched a ride with water police for a rescue off the coast of Newcastle this afternoon.
The skipper of a runabout had suffered a medical condition, with his companion onboard unable to bring the vessel back to shore.
Located off Stockton, the fishing boat was taken under tow just before 2.30pm, its skipper transferred to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
