VACCINE AND QUARANTINE QUESTIONED AFTER MUSIC FESTIVAL CANNED
Labor has slammed the sluggish vaccine rollout after a Maitland music festival was cancelled due to concerns about the Victorian outbreak.
Cattle Yard Promotions pulled the pin on August’s ‘Fresh Produce’ event – a successor of Groovin The Moo – which was also axed due to the pandemic last year.
All up, the company has canned eight regional dates, despite receiving more than $1 million in federal grants to stay afloat.
“We’re seeing the impacts of that. Young people would have been employed, lots of young people would have come along and of course, our local musicians,” Paterson MP, Meryl Swanson said.
“Of course there is uncertainty, absolutely,” Deputy Premier, Michael McCormack said.
“And that is why we’re encouraging people to get vaccinated and that’s why we’re encouraging people to get those jabs.”
Ticket-holders will be contacted for refunds.
