EMOTIVE INDIGENOUS DANCE WINS “STARS OF THE CENTRAL COAST” COMPETITION
The Cancer Council’s Stars of the Central Coast competition has received a wonderful boost.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Coast turned dance competitor Adam Crouch announcing on the night the state government will make up the gap raised to reach the one million dollar mark.
Just over $900,000 was raised by competition night this weekend, with one of our very own – NBN Sports Journalist Steve Allan and his dance partner Neville Boney taking out the competition.
It was an emotive dress rehearsal this week at Laycock Street Theatre that was a prelude to the couple’s winning number, an interpretive Indigenous dance.
The mesmerising number by media professional Steve and NAISDA professional dancer Neville, told the story of the recent bushfires and the power of fire in the Indigenous culture.
There was barely a dry eye on the night.
