A police officer has been struck by a stolen car in Gosford overnight.
Just before midnight officers pulled over a red Hyundai Excel, opened the driver’s door and started speaking to the two males inside.
The driver reversed the vehicle and the open door hit the officer.
He was not injured.
The offenders drove away and abandoned the car on a fire trail.
The driver has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, late teens to early 20s, short dark hair with a thin build.
The passenger has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, late teens to early 20s, unshaven with a thin build. He was wearing a blue hooded jumper.
