13 INFECTIOUS PEOPLE ACTIVE IN THE COMMUNITY
Premier Gladys Berejiklian says the next few days in New South Wales will be ‘critical’ with 31 new local cases recorded to 8pm last night.
She has warned residents in Greater Sydney to ‘[not] leave the house unless you absolutely have to.’
Of greatest concern, 13 of the cases were still active in the community while infectious.
This brings the number of locally acquired cases to 226 since June 16 2021, with 188 of those directly linked to the Bondi cluster.
NSW Health has thanked the community for a record number of tests conducted in the last 24 hours with 73,602 people coming forward.
The Premier is urging people to continue getting tested even if the mildest symptoms develop.
Residents across the state are advised to continue checking updated health advice and check areas of concern if they have travelled to Northern Territory, Queensland, Western Australia and Victoria.
