HEALTH DISTRICT HOPEFUL TO SEE MORE PHARMACIES ADMINISTERING VACCINE

Hunter New England Health says it would like to see more of the region’s pharmacies authorised to administer the AstraZeneca jab.

At present, just 22 pharmacies across New South Wales have supplies of the vaccine – including outlets at Uralla, Walcha and Guyra.

Public Health Physician, Dr David Durrheim, says he expects the rollout will become more fluid over time, giving more regional residents the opportunity to be vaccinated.

“Clearly, the more opportunities, the easier we make it for people to get vaccinated, the better.”
