A body boarder has died on the Far North Coast after he lost his board and became distressed in the surf.
The incident happened just after 11:30am today at Fingal Headland Point.
Police say the 20-year-old was body boarding, when he lost his board and attempted to climb onto the rocks.
A search was initiated, and the man was pulled from the water at around 1:30pm.
Paramedics performed CPR, but he could not be revived.
