The Prince of Merewether has been fined for breaching COVID-19 public health orders.
Newcastle City Police were conducting business checks when they attended the premises at 9 o’clock.
Officers observed the venue wasn’t adhering to the one person per square metre rule and was in excess of its allocated head count.
The Prince was hit with a $5,000 penalty.
It was just one of 106 infringement notices issued by NSW police in past 24 hours.
