SHENHUA TO BEGIN SELLING LIVERPOOL PLAINS SHIRE PROPERTIES

Chinese mining giant, Shenhua has begun selling off its $120 million property portfolio in the Liverpool Plains.
The properties in Breeza and Tambar Springs cover around 16,500 hectares of land – which was set aside for the controversial Watermark coal mine.
It comes after the state government struck a multimillion-dollar deal to buy back the remainder of the company’s exploration license in April.
The Watermark project was expected to produce 10-million tonnes of coal over three decades but was met with widespread community opposition.
