Country music star John Williamson is a step closer to being memorialised in Peel Street.
The state government is pitching in $30,000 towards the near $100,000 bronze statue – with the full cost, yet to be covered.
Gunnedah woman Tanya Bartlett’s work is hoped to be unveiled at the next Tamworth Country Music Awards.
