WORKS NEARLY COMPLETE ON QUEENSLAND TO NSW INTERCONNECTOR

Work on the Queensland to New South Wales interconnector is almost complete.

Towers have been replaced and gantries built at the Tamworth and Dumaresq substations and almost all of the transmission line has been upgraded.

TransGrid says when it’s done, the interconnector will lower the costs of energy sharing between the two states and make the grid more stable.

More than 280 workers have been employed during construction.
