A man has been injured, after an excavator rolled on top of him in the backyard of a Newcastle home this afternoon.
Emergency services, including the Westpac rescue helicopter, were called to Ray Street at Birmingham Gardens shortly before 3pm.
The man, aged in his 60s, had to be extricated, before being taken to hospital in an ambulance.
He suffered serious leg injuries.
