Thousands of people living in Armidale will go into lockdown from 5pm today, after the region recorded two new positive COVID cases.
The stay-at-home order applies for the city of Armidale and the town of Guyra and will run through until 12.01am on August 15.
One of the positive cases is a young woman who travelled to the region from Newcastle and the other is a household contact of hers.
