Tamworth’s mayor is positive that zoning changes will be made to allow abattoir workers to reside at the airport’s old pilot training facility long-term.
Workers can only stay for a maximum of six months, as the zone is restricted to airport-related activities.
But councillors resolved last night to write to the Planning Minister to have this changed.
