MAN CHARGED AND MORE FINES OVER SHORTLAND HOUSE PARTIES
A man who allegedly hosted the Shortland house parties attended by two Sydney women carrying COVID will face court next month.
Police allege the 22-year-old hosted gatherings at his Sandgate Road address on three consecutive nights from July 28 to 30.
They were attended by two women, aged 21 and 20, who allegedly defied earlier police orders to leave the Hunter.
Last week they were issued their own court attendance notice.
A further three people – two men aged 21 and 26 and a woman aged 20 – have been issued $1,000 fines for attending the Shortland parties.
Police investigations are ongoing with officers still talking to attendees.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
