UPGRADES BEGIN SOON FOR BOOMERANG FIELD

Civil work on a $1.7 million upgrade to Moree’s Boomerang field is expected to begin in two weeks.
Council received state government funding to turn the grounds into a high standard sporting facility, which is mostly used by rugby league clubs.
The upgrade will include construction of a brand new field, LED lights, irrigation and fencing.
“Having a well established field like that will allow opportunities to attract NRL or professional clubs to come on in, to be able to trial some of their games here.”
Council estimates once civil works are completed, the build time will be between six to eight weeks.
