An elderly man has been assaulted during a violent home invasion at Wee Waa early this morning.
The 81-year-old woke up just before 1 o’clock – with two unknown men in his room.
When he got up, the pair ran away from the Warrior Street house.
Police searched the home and took a knife, log splitter, and a headlamp to be forensically examined.
Investigations continue.
