AG WORKERS GRANTED EXEMPTION TO CARPOOL

Ag workers can now ride to and from work together, thanks to an amendment to the state’s Public Health Orders.

The New South Wales Government says carpooling can be an essential part of working in rural areas.

Following community feedback, COVID-safe ride-sharing will resume across the agricultural sector, including at abattoirs.

Under the exemption, workers must use a vehicle that has been arranged by their employer, sign in and out of the car and wear a face mask.

Only agricultural workers are eligible.
