LUKE BAILEY’S PARALYMPICS CAMPAIGN ENDS

Luke Bailey’s quest for gold is over, with the 23 year old failing to reach the T-54 100 metres wheelchair sprint final at the Tokyo Paralympics earlier today.

The Wingham local charged to the front early in his heat but was overtaken short of the finish line, finishing fifth.

Bailey was well outside his personal best time of 14-point-one-eight seconds, which would have seen him qualify.

It was Luke’s first Paralympics, he’ll return to Australia later this week.
