VALE CYRIL BARWICK

A man believed to be Quirindi’s oldest resident has died, at the age of 104.

Veteran Cyril Barwick was well-respected in his community.

He served in World War 2, before raising a family and becoming the local RSL club’s most senior member.

NBN News met Mr Barwick earlier this year when his clubmates gifted him a brand new wheelchair.

His carers at Eloura nursing home say his passed away peacefully this week, surrounded by loved ones.
