CSIRO WARNS OF MICE RESURGENCE IN THE NORTH WEST
Landholders are being warned of increased mice activity across the North West.
After wreaking havoc on properties for months, the rodents retreated into hibernation in June.
But, as the weather warms back up, the CSIRO has spotted breeding activity in the region – particularly near Moree.
It says, due to the rapid procreation of mice, thousands of litters have already been born.(“We’ve got farmers from, basically across the entire cropping zone, reporting mice at higher numbers than what they would expect to see at this time of the year.”)

Landholders are being urged to be vigilant, to avoid another plague.
They’re being asked to set traps around the home, block off gaps in external doors and bait crops.
