The Newcastle Jets have confirmed one of their players has returned a positive test for COVID-19.
The infectious man, who is fully vaccinated, became symptomatic yesterday and received a positive PCR test result today.
All players and football staff have now undergone subsequent PCR testing, in addition to the daily rapid antigen tests the Club has been undergoing since October.
At this stage, no other person has reported symptoms, or returned a positive test.
The Jets say they will continue to work with the A-League and NSW Health.
An update regarding the upcoming weekend’s game against Macarthur FC will be provided in the next 24 hours.
