After an extensive search, the Newcastle Jockey Club today confirmed their new Chief Executive will be former Adelaide Jockey Club CEO, Matthew Benson.
“It’s a big metropolitan club, and he’s never really left the racing industry, he’s been involved with it,” said NJC Chairman Geoff Bennett.
Benson has been working in sports administration for a number of years.
“There’s not too much that racing can throw up that I’m not aware about including the politics and the personalities, but the job is about engaging with the stake holders,” said NJC CEO Matthew Benson.
