Businesses and councils across the Mid North Coast have cleaned up at the New South Wales Tourism Awards overnight.

Among the 15 award winners, six received top honours- including the Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail in Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour’s Giingan Experience and MidCoast Council’s Destination Barrington Coast brand.

“It’ll certainly give the businesses a boost it’ll give the staff a boost because they’re getting the recognition they truly deserve and it’ll put us on the map as a great place to come and visit,” Business NSW Regional Manager Kellon Beard said.

For showing resilience through the pandemic and natural disasters, Port Macquarie Hastings Council was named co-winner of the Judge’s Tourism Star Award.
