STUDENTS FALL SILENT IN HONOUR OF KILLED COMPETITOR

The action at Coffs Harbour’s Eastern University Games came to a stand-still at midday today, to honour the life of a competitor who was killed on Sunday night.
At sporting fields across the city the games’ 2000 participants paused to observe a minute’s silence for their fellow competitor.
The 20-year-old Sydney man ran into the path of an oncoming car on the Pacific Highway outside his university’s hotel on Sunday night.
Eastern University Games organisers won’t say which institution the man came from or what sport he was competing in.
