In breaking news, one person is dead, and six others are in hospital, following a head-on collision on the Pacific Highway, north of Taree.
Police say the crash happened just after four this afternoon at Moorland.
The male driver of one of the cars died at the scene.
A man and woman, and their four young passengers, suffered minor injuries.
Drivers are being urged to avoid the area.
