The New England Highway is closed north of Singleton after a collision that’s left seven people injured, including three children.
Rescue helicopters headed to the scene, and to Singleton Hospital, to transfer patients back to Newcastle’s John Hunter emergency unit.
Two cars collided at Ravensworth about 20 kilometres north of Singleton just before 4pm.
The ambulance service says an eight year old is in a critical condition, and two toddlers have also been seriously injured.
