COUPLE SWEPT OFF NOBBYS BREAKWALL

The Hunter is being hammered on all fronts, first came the major flooding in the valley… now wild surf is hitting the coastline.

It’s been so dangerous, two people have narrowly escaped with their lives, after being swept off Newcastle’s Nobbys breakwall.

The pair, who witnesses say had been taking photos, run for their lives.

But they had no hope, swept off the breakwall and disappearing in the whitewash.

He called emergency services… while working with another witness to get the couple out of harm’s way.
