LIFELINE FOR FLOODED ICE CREAM FACTORY

On the eve of impending stand downs, 170 employees at Norco’s Lismore ice cream factory were informed that a bespoke financial support package from the federal government would keep them employed by the dairy cooperative for another 10 weeks.
Enabling time for the completion and assessment of a grant application under the Anchor Business Support.
The damage bill at the ice cream factory is more than $100-million.
It’s been out of action since being flooded on February 28.
