FRNSW CONDUCTING FLOOD RECOVERY WORK IN THE HUNTER
Life is slowing return to normal for flood affected areas in the region, however Insurance Council says companies are working through millions of dollars worth of claims, with councils expecting a big bill.
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) Strike Teams have spent the last few days conducting clean-up and recovery work in the Hunter Valley in the wake of the floods.
FRNSW deployed Strike Teams of firefighters to the Hawkesbury, Central Coast and the Hunter regions following the widespread flood crisis.
Over the past week, three teams and seven Rapid Damage Assessment crews were assigned to help the worst-hit areas of the Hunter including Singleton, Maitland and Raymond Terrace.
Firefighters have hosed silt out of homes and public parks, removed ruined furniture onto the street for pick-up and provided beleaguered residents a helping hand with their properties.
FRNSW continues to assist its partner emergency agencies, as needed, during the flood recovery phase.
