TWO CHARGED, ONE ON THE RUN, AFTER ALLEGED GOLD COAST PURSUIT

Two men have been charged over their alleged involvement in a police pursuit on the Gold Coast.
Police say they observed a stolen Volkswagen travelling on Kessels Road at MacGregor, south of Brisbane, just before 9pm last night.
Police tracked the vehicle along the M1, until road spikes were successfully used to stop the vehicle at Reedy Creek, just after 9:30pm.
Three people ran from the vehicle into nearby bushland.
Two were arrested while the third remains outstanding.
A police dog located a semi-automatic handgun near the vehicle which police say had been thrown by one of the men.
Among other charges, a 19-year-old Wynnum man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of a handgun,
An 18-year-old Sunnybank Hills man has been charged with possession of a knife in a public place, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
