‘Get Ready Weekend’ events were cut short on the Mid Coast this morning with firefighters called to a housefire on Caparra Close in Tinonee.
Crews arrived on the scene just before 10.30 and quickly extinguished the blaze.
A HAZMAT team was then called in, to treat asbestos.
“We’ve gained entry through the back of the building, it’s been extinguished, residents weren’t home at the time upon our arrival,” Wingham Fire and Rescue’s Jessie Wrigley said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
