Police have charged a 60-year-old Port Stephens man with 40 child sex offences.
The man is accused of abusing three boys between 1981 and 1984 in and around Kurri Kurri, while being a volunteer church youth leader.
He was granted bail in Maitland Bail Court this morning, and his case was adjourned until Monday.
