Third Northern Rivers flood disaster in 8 months as flash flooding inundates Byron Bay

For the THIRD time this year, the Northern Rivers is bracing for a flooding emergency.

It’s an anxious wait for thousands of residents in Lismore tonight, who’ve been told they need to be ready to evacuate by morning, if asked to do so.

There’s a MAJOR flood warning for the Wilsons River – the Bureau of Meteorology predicting “Dangerous and Life-Threatening Flash Flooding” over the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile Byron Bay has already experienced flash flooding – as the SES spent the day preparing, this is how it unfolded.
