‘DAFFODIL DAY’ GOES VIRTUAL FOR THE SECOND YEAR RUNNING

One of the Cancer Council’s biggest annual fundraisers has, once again, gone virtual.
Streets would normally be dotted with yellow on the last Friday in August, as Dougal Bears and blooms go on sale for ‘Daffodil Day’.
However, due to lockdown, an online appeal has been launched in its place.
Organisers say, while they’d prefer to run the popular stalls in person, the appeal has held its own.
“The online appeal last year was really successful, it raised a couple of million dollars. So, we’re hoping to be able to replicate that again, this year.”
To send a virtual daffodil, or make a donation, visit the Cancer Council’s website.
