Regardless of which side of the local political divide they came from, Novocastrians filled Christ Church Cathedral
today to farewell a long-time community campaigner.
Margaret Henry was a Newcastle University lecturer, city councillor, heritage conservationist and high-profile defender of the Laman Street figs, as well as the city’s rail line.
Margaret Henry was also a mum and partner – she died following a recent illness aged 81.
